Axios reports that big tech might be done with major layoffs. (No link)

Thoughts:

• They have to be to stay competitive in AI… but those will be different people right now
• They truly over staffed during the pandemic. A right-sizing as a one time event is possible here because there wasn’t a structural issue in the industry
• The overall demand for tech workers is not waning and there is no reason to believe it will soon

…but not everyone’s job is safe. Companies sure still demanding that employees return to the office. In many cases it looks like are designed to get people to quit instead of firing them.
